About Birberous

A life-long Alaskan, he grew up in Big Lake and currently resides in Anchorage. Graduated with a BFA with an emphasis in Illustration and digital art in 2011. His current bodies of work have been heavily influenced by Alaskan animals, mountains, and the natural beauty of the state of Alaska. He enjoys working in ink and playing with high contrast images, experimenting with line and stippling techniques. 

Currently he is the Marketing Coordinator for General Support Services at the University of Alaska Anchorage. He is very influenced by comic art and Film Noir, finding that the simple colors, tones, and textures make an image stand out. Some of his favorite illustrators / artists are Frank Miller, Todd McFarlane, H.R Giger, Jim Lee, Darwyn Cooke and Kei Zama.
